5 questions to Sarah Strandberg
WODJ MAG: Hey Sarah, how have you been since the last time we talked?
Sarah Strandberg: I have been good, a lot has happened since then. I do miss playing gigs but have submerged myself in to producing, which has been therapeutic. I am also starting a record label this Summer called, Fallen Angel. It is geared toward female Hard Techno artists.
You recently released two tracks ‘Welcome to my nightmare’ and ‘Blade’. They are powerful and definitely Techno. Could you tell us about them?
‘Welcome to my nightmare’ is on Red Shadows, a compilation for Covid19-Nessuna da sola-Sostieni le sexworker promoted by the transfeminist collective Ombre Rosse and a wide network of pro-sexworkers associations.’Blade’ came out on Coincidence Records and I made it around the same time and reflected the same experience.
As you said in the previous question ‘Welcome to my nightmare’ was produced for a cause that is close to your heart. Could you present it to us?
Yes. The original tracks are donated by 13 artists, and express many shades of the witches’ sound: from noise to industrial, from techno to acid house, from dance floor oriented tracks to electronic experiments. The purpose is collecting funds to help sex workers in Italy during the COVID-19 emergency.
What are your next projects for the next few months?
I have an EP for Insane Industrial Recordings, and a collaboration with Christian Schachlinger and another collab’ with Otin.
Do you have a last word to say?
No other words except I look forward to discovering new Hard Techno female talent to release this year on Fallen Angel and wish everyone well with a hug and positive vibes.
